How Do You Grow Your Garden (Show)?
If you’ve never attended the Northwest Flower & Garden Show or the San Francisco Flower & Garden Show, make plans to do so in 2009: February 19-22 (NW) or March 18-22 (SF). These are two of the biggest and best flower shows in the world, and they are truly amazing.
I attended the Northwest Flower & Garden Show for the first time last year, and as I ambled through the Washington State Convention Center, my senses were inundated with the sights, smells, and sounds of Eden-like garden displays.
I’ve often wondered how much sweat effort goes into assembling 25 full-scale garden displays inside a convention center. Duane Kelly, the founder of both shows, just sent us a cool time-lapse video (7.5 minutes) that depicts the entire 12-day cycle of producing a show, from setup to tear-down.
You can view the video from the San Francisco Flower & Garden Show’s site, or at YouTube (if you like the YouTube video, feel free to embed it on your own blog).
While you’re at it, visit Flora’s blog (Northwest Show) and Jasmine’s blog (San Francisco Show). Flora and Jasmine dig up gardening tips year-round!
